La Pizzeria
Beirut
La Pizzeria is located in a ground floor of an old building on Furn el Hayek street. The pizzeria is divided in two stone arcade rooms. The place had an obvious attempt of renovation leaving the walls half stone half green, which gives the place a lot of charm. The decor, the wooden bar, the open cuisine and the not bran new furniture make you feel that the place has a soul and a life behind it.
The menu is varied with classic but also very curious items, either regional from around the world or innovative. Prices are low if you order pizzas and average if you order platters.
We ordered artichoke pizza and caramelized onions and garlic calzone. The artichoke came with fresh tomatoes and the the calzone without a red sauce neither tomatoes. Both were very good and original. I'm very tempted however to taste a pizza with a sauce to judge their classic pizza skills. The service was very friendly and fast.
